How can we help?
Answers to what people ask most about Vidoveli, and a person to write to when you need one.
Getting started
How do I sign up?
Continue with Google, or enter your email address and type in the 6-digit code we send you. There is no password to create or remember, and signing in later works the same way.
How do I make my first clips?
Paste a link to your video on your workspace’s home page, or upload the file. Choose how long the clips should be and how the captions look, then select Get AI clips. Vidoveli transcribes the video and picks the moments worth posting; open any clip to edit it, then download it.
Which videos can I use?
Paste a link to your video on YouTube, Google Drive or Dropbox, or a direct link to an MP4, MOV or WebM file, or upload the file. Each video can be up to two hours long, and up to 1 GB on the Free plan or 10 GB on Creator and Business. From a longer YouTube video you can import just the part you need, and only that part uses credits. Google Drive and Dropbox files need to be shared with “Anyone with the link”. Videos with clear speech work best: podcasts, interviews, talks, webinars, lessons and vlogs.
Do I have to wait while my video uploads?
No. Choose your clip settings while the video is still uploading or importing, and processing starts the moment it arrives. If the connection drops, you resume the upload where it stopped instead of starting over. While Vidoveli works, the transcript and the first clips appear on screen, and you can close the tab and come back: everything is saved to your workspace.
Which languages are supported?
Transcription and captions work in 40 languages with automatic language detection, and captions can be translated between them.
Credits and the Free plan
How do credits work?
One credit covers one minute of video you bring in, so a 42-minute podcast uses 42 credits. When you import part of a long YouTube video, only that part counts; Google Drive, Dropbox and direct links bring in the whole file. Credits depend on the length of the video, not on how many clips you get from it, and the credits that expire soonest are used first. If processing fails, or finds no clips at all, the credits go back. Editing, captions and exports don’t use credits. Some AI tools use credits: Add emojis, Emphasize keywords and AI post copy use 1 credit a run; Add B-rolls and Suggest highlights use 2. Translating subtitles uses 1 credit per started minute of the clip, and finding more AI clips in a video you already processed uses 0.5 credits per minute of the video, rounded up. Remove silence, Auto-censor and Auto reframe are free. Each tool shows what it uses before it runs, and a run that fails or finds nothing gives its credits back.
What happens if I run out of credits?
New videos and the AI tools that use credits wait until you have enough; each one says what it needs before it starts. Everything else keeps working: you can still edit, caption and export your clips, and running out of credits never deletes anything. Upgrade, or choose more credits on your Billing page, to continue right away, or wait for your next credits.
Can I use Vidoveli for free?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 60 credits every month, AI-generated clips, the full video editor and 720p exports. You don’t need a card to sign up.
Do my videos have a watermark?
On the Free plan, exported and shared clips carry a small Vidoveli watermark in the bottom-right corner. Creator and Business export without it. If you cancel, exports stay watermark-free until the end of the period you paid for, and videos you exported earlier never change.
What resolution are exports?
Free exports are 720p. Creator and Business export in 1080p, and in 4K when the video you add is 4K (3840 × 2160 or larger). A video below 1080p is scaled up to 1080p; 4K is never made by scaling up a smaller video. Links from YouTube import at up to 1080p, so upload the 4K file itself for a 4K export.
Plans and billing
How do I upgrade?
Select Upgrade at the top right of your workspace, or choose a plan on the pricing page. Pick how many credits you need and pay with Stripe, our payment provider; the credits arrive as soon as the payment goes through.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Change your plan, billing period or credits on your Billing page at any time. A bigger plan starts right away: you pay the difference for the rest of the period and get its extra credits. A smaller plan, or a switch between monthly and yearly, starts at your next renewal, and nothing is refunded. Cancel from Manage billing, and the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Where are my invoices and receipts?
On your Billing page, select Manage billing (or Invoices and receipts, once a plan has ended). Stripe keeps every invoice and receipt there, ready to download as a PDF, and you can update your card and billing details on the same page.
What happens if a payment fails?
Your plan stays on while Stripe tries the payment again, and your workspace shows a note about it. Update your card in Manage billing on your Billing page and the payment is tried again. If it still can’t be collected, the plan ends and your workspace moves to the Free plan; your projects are kept for 30 days.
Can I get a refund?
Payments aren’t refunded for a billing period that has already started, including when you change or cancel your plan, unless the law where you live says otherwise (section 6 of the Terms of Service). If you think you were charged by mistake, write to support@vidoveli.com; we reply within 2 business days.
Projects and storage
How long are my projects kept?
On the Free plan, a project and its files are deleted 3 days after you create it, so download the clips you want to keep. Creator keeps your projects with 100 GB of storage and Business with 500 GB, for as long as you subscribe. When your storage is full, new uploads and imports pause until you delete projects; nothing is deleted for you. If a paid plan ends, your projects stay for 30 days before the Free plan’s 3 days apply. Projects in the trash are deleted for good after 30 days.
Can I get a deleted project back?
A project you move to the trash can be restored from the Trash view of your workspace until it is deleted for good: after 30 days in the trash, or on the Free plan 3 days after it was created. A project deleted for good can’t be restored, so download the clips you want to keep first.
Why did my video fail?
Most often the link isn’t public: YouTube videos have to be public or unlisted, and Google Drive and Dropbox files shared with “Anyone with the link”. A video can also be longer than two hours or larger than your plan takes (1 GB on Free, 10 GB on Creator and Business), or the site can refuse the import. The project says what went wrong, a failed video gives its credits back, and you can always upload the file instead.
Where are my exports?
Every clip you export is on the Exports page of your workspace, ready to download again. Exported files don’t use credits.
Account and privacy
How do I change my email address?
Your email address is how you sign in, so it can’t be changed in the app yet. Write to support@vidoveli.com from your current address and tell us the new one; we reply within 2 business days.
How do I sign out of every device?
Open Account in your workspace and select Sign out everywhere. Every browser signed in to your account, this one included, will have to sign in again.
How do I delete my account?
Open Account in your workspace and select Delete account. It deletes your projects, clips, exports and uploaded videos, and ends a paid plan at once, without a refund for the period that has started. It can’t be undone. To stop paying but keep your work until the period ends, cancel your plan on your Billing page instead.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Download your clips from your projects at any time. For a copy of the personal data we hold about you, write to support@vidoveli.com. We reply within 2 business days and send the copy within 30 days.
Are my videos used to train AI?
No. Your videos are processed only to make your transcripts, clips and captions, and they are not used to train AI models, by us or by our providers. The Privacy Policy has the details.
